About The Authors
Nathan Clendenin met Rebecca Folmar in 2004 when he was interviewing for grad school at UNC-Chapel Hill. They married May 27, 2006, in Chapel Hill, and in 2008 resigned from their jobs in Raleigh, NC, to pursue a calling to serve in South Africa. Returning to the U.S. in August 2009, they now reside in Durham, where Nathan is self-employed as independent photojournalist, multimedia producer and web designer, pursuing his life calling to be a multimedia storyteller for God’s kingdom. He is the former multimedia producer for the website of a local TV station, WRAL.com. Currently, Rebecca is the chief operations officer of Grace Community Church, the Clendenins’ church in Chapel Hill. She is the former director of communications for Action for Children North Carolina , a statewide nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of children and youth in North Carolina. Both are graduates of UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication graduate program.
Find out more about how we co-produced stories in Mamelodi and throughout Sub-Saharan Africa during our year of service as interns with Africa Revolution . We are excited about what God is doing in Mamelodi and communities like it, and are very grateful for the opportunity to have had a small part in it.
